Mahalaxmi Temple Mumbai

Shri Mahalakshmi Temple is situated at the North of the Malabar Hill on Bhulabhai Desai Road, Mumbai 400 026. The magnificence of the sanctuary, its fanciful significance, its nearness to the coastline, and its Dhwjstambha all consolidate together to make the spot a magnificent vacation destination, also. Arranged inside the Municipal 'D' ward, the Mahalakshmi Temple region is limited by the ocean on the western and northern edges and Bhulabhai Desai Road on the east and south.

This sanctuary is committed to the three divinities Shri Mahakali or Durga (Destroyer of Demon), Shri Mahalakshmi (Goddesses of Wealth), and Shri Mahasaraswati (Goddesses of Learning).

History

As indicated by the records, the Mahalaxmi Temple is accepted to be worked between 1761 AD and 1771 AD. The legend says that hundreds of years prior the British began interfacing Malabar Hills with Worli yet inferable from marine aggravations, the errand was ending up being very risky and troublesome. It is accepted that the central designer Shri Ramji Shivji Prabhu who was liable for the task had a fantasy one night wherein he saw Goddess Mahalaxmi. She requested that he discover three symbols at the lower part of the sea and introduce them inside a sanctuary devoted to her. According to her maxim, the designer adhered to the directions and the connection that associates Malabar Hills and Worli in particular Breach Candy was made. He at that point continued to take out the symbols of the goddesses from the Worli spring after which he got the land on a hillock as a blessing from Lord Hornby who was neglecting Prabhu's work. Shri Ramji Shivji Prabhu built a Mahalakshmi Temple on the said on top of the hillock according to his celestial dream. One can at present find the three icons introduced in the sanctuary.
